About Me

I was born with right sided microtia and I made this website to tell you about my experience! Click here to learn some facts about microtia from the CDC.

When I was 5 years old, I had a CT scan of my head to see if I was eligible to do a canaloplasty.  I scored an 8 out 10 on the J scale which means an 80% chance of the surgery working.

When I was 6 years old, I went to Dr. Bradley Kesser at UVA to have the canaloplasty done. It was successful and my hearing improved!

The black mark is a pen mark so they can fix the right ear!

When I was 7 in 2019, I went to Dr. Sheryl Lewin in California to have my outer ear reconstruction. It was successful as well, but I had to go back in 2020 when I was 8 to get my earlobe fixed.  That’s the story of my ear!!!

This is me looking at my new ear in a mirror for the first time!

Update! This is me with Dr. Kesser 5 years after my canalplasty surgery. The audiogram is still showing great results!
